Miss Newcombe at Lafayette loves listening to her students talk about the great books they read, but what happens when time is running short?
Using the Web 2.0 application called voicethread, Miss Newcombe’s students can not only talk about their books whenever they like but also listen to comments or questions Miss Newcombe has for them.
The digital book talk pioneers (one of them is seen here with Miss Newcombe) use a microphone to record their responses to two of the many possible book talk questions. The students may log in with their password in school or at home to do this! Miss Newcombe can then reply whenever she has the time, but an added benefit is that classmates may also reply.
